England Athletics has now updated its guidance about return to Club Activity following the recent UK Government announcements. Our Covid-19 working group has considered this guidance and I am pleased to say that with effect from Monday 19th July we will generally return to our pre pandemic operating model.
There will no longer be a requirement to book to attend club activities and anyone wanting to join us for a club run on a Monday should simply come along to the Cricket Club at 7pm. For the moment, run briefings will continue to take place in the car park. Anyone wanting to stay for a drink afterwards can either sit at the picnic benches immediately outside the club house or enjoy a drink inside. With immediate effect, the Cricket Club are pleased to offer us changing and shower facilities pre and post run. Over the coming weeks we will slowly start to offer further facilities as we did pre-pandemic.
All of our Wednesday sessions are advertised on our website so everyone can see what is coming up – to ensure we have sufficient coaches available please message the relevant coach to let them know that you are attending the session or, if this is not possible, then please let Ryan Azzopardi know in advance.
Our handicap runs will continue to operate on the first Monday of each month and to take part please give your name to the organisers on arrival at the club.
Whilst it may seem obvious, we just want to reiterate that if you or anyone in your household has any Covid -19 symptoms then do not come to club. As we now move into the phase of personal responsibility along with the rest of society, we want everyone to come along and enjoy their running and meeting up with friends and I hope to see many of you again soon.
