MID LANCS XC No 5 – Leigh Sports Village. 10 th February 2019
Fortunately the winds abated in the afternoon and the rain held off so it was a great day for cross country running. The course is predominately flat but with sections through woods and along embankments as well as open country it is quite interesting. There was less mud than previous years but a narrow twisty section through trees proved tricky. Full results on our cross country page.
Kath Hoyer was the only lady running so well done Kath. In the same race Peter Bartlett (4 th )
and Dave Waywell (5 th ) ensured Wesham’s V70 men were the first placed team. That’s five out of five so far for the V70 men so things are looking good for a clean sweep.
In the men’s race Rob Danson chalked up his first Mid-Lancs victory with a healthy 21 second margin over Blackpool’s Luke Minns. The dependable Dave Taylor was second in, ahead of Mark Bellfield who had a strong run to finish in front of Andrew Harling. Steve Myerscough was 5th Wesham finisher ahead of John Collier, who improved on recent form. Closely behind was Nigel Shepherd followed by Ben Wrigley and Martin Bates, who ensured Wesham finished the first V60 team.
Thank you and well done to all who took part
