11/08/06 malcsherwood@hotmail.com Congratulations on a superb web site. Your help about inserting smileys, emotions etc is great. Keep up the good work.

27/06/06 alistairwelsh@hotmail.com Thanks to Dave Waywell and his gang for last night's relay. Excellent stuff. Cheers, Ali

I’ve been a member since the year dot and love the club. We are not “win at all costs” (though it’s Nice!!!). I’ve seen a few Chairmans Dave Nuttall/Dave Young/Dave Waywell and Race Organisers: Les Ward/Ian Rawcliffe/Brian Porter and now Andy Yelland. All have done and will do a superb job. What I’m trying to say, I’ve always been overcome by a sea of panic when any of the above have stepped down!!! None more so, when George Flanagan stepped down as Webmaster!! How will the Club survive/move on???

I needn’t have panicked, (that’s not taking anything away from the likes of Peter Cooke/Brian Wilkie who have been in their positions longer than I can remember), but Brenda has taken the Website/Newsletter/Club to a different level. It goes without saying I was relieved from a personal point of view to see the Newsletter in such safe hands!!!In the last few years, the scene on the Fylde has turned round tremendously, so much so, that other clubs in the area are paying us the great compliment of copying some of our ideas - and Brenda must take a great deal of credit for this. My Newsletter looks positively amateurish by comparison! The Website goes from strength to strength and nearly 19,000 hits since 1/1/05 speak volumes.

(Martin Bates 12.4.06)

12/04/06 bosswrinkly@weshamroardrunners.com Brenda!  You have done it again, where do you get all these ideas from to improve the Web Site?
Brilliant! Keep up the good work.
06/04/06 martinbates3@hotmail.com I would like to nominate Russ Mabbett for Man of the Month for March for his superb 2:53 at the Barcelona Marathon - his fastest time for a number of years and in fairly hot conditions.

Having been the recipient of many a scathing word from your aspiring novelist, i.e. George Kennedy - I say novelist, because those of you who know me will have realised that the person 'El Sweeno' who he frequently refers to cannot possibly be me. He uses my name and constructs the story round me. I have 2 reasons for allowing him to do this

a) He copies me loads of CDs which would otherwise cost me loads of money.
b) One of my aims is to eventually get him sectioned which is why I agree to training with him on occasions and going to the occasional race together. This is to give him some material to write about and to wind him up as much as possible while in his company - I am obviously succeeding judging by his last report.

Anyhow, I would like to put the record straight - I am actually a very easy-going, docile, patient shy and passive individual who likes to keeps myself to myself!

Far be it from me to pull up your budding Fictionalist on his spelling, (important, I would have thought for a writer), but actually, 'I feigned interest in it, not fained! (see last article)

Just don't be late, George when we go to Stafford on 19th March - 7.30am my house - not 7.35!

15/02/06 biggeo@btinternet.com Captains Corner: I would like to know who is "ghost writing" Captain Barlow's articles. I can't believe that what I read comes from my good friend Captain Barlow. Sorry I can't take part in the first relay Captain Barlow as I am taking part in the main race in Barcelona that very weekend The International 10k.

The photo of me does indeed show me in front of a Wesham Runner! Not only that, but I was about to PASS the Clayton runner.
Normal service was resumed further up the hill when the Clayton lad passed me and I never saw him again. No photos of Mr Bates or mr Storey - why is that then???????
26/01/06 leebar@blueyonder.co.uk What an improvement, a little airbrushing goes along way, George Kennedy's new photo takes 20years off him.
24/01/06 richard.storey@uk.ibm.com Good shout Martin, I just assumed he was about to be lapped!!
23/01/06 martinbates3@hotmail.com Can you check the authenticity of the photo of Brian Porter at Lancaster Cross Country, (he appears to be ahead of another Wesham Runner)?
31/12/05 martinbates3@hotmail.com Tonight's Gazette - Wesham had 75, (seventy five), runners racing last week at five different races, yet the smallest column inches and no photo. What are we doing wrong?
10/12/05 biggeo@btinternet.com

Feedback from Mr/Ms Kennedy: RE Ladies Section. Good for Kath she is right Dave Waywell is a sexiest pig like most Men. The only way the Ladies can change people like him is to show them hows its done! Go on girls it's easy we all know Women are superior to Men.
06/12/05 john.whiteman@tesco.net Feedback from John Whiteman: Hi! Brenda, How do you do it? I didn't think you could better the last newsletter, but the 2005 Xmas Edition is superb, surely you wont better this one! Just one thing though, why does Pete's name appear before yours?.
25/11/05 yawn@hotmail.com Feedback from Mr/Ms OFF. Message to biggeo@btinternet.com. so it was you! And here's me thinking they were from real people with nothing to say.....shucks!!!!. PS I prefer Leonard Cohen.
25/11/05 biggeo@btinternet.com

Feedback from Mr/s Kennedy: Message to Yawn this site is a success due to its diversity if It was all focused souly on running then most of its visitors would be yawning. Just because you lack humour don't assume everyone else does. If you don't like it don't read it better still write something constructive yourself. Brenda is always asking for input from everyone - put your poison pen to a better use than being so negative. On a positive note I have some Smiths albums that I am willing to lend you.
24/11/05 yawn@hotmail.com Feedback from Mr/Ms OFF: Message to outpatients, sunflowers, randy bugger's and I love women.com's.If you've nothing constructive or remotely interesting to say could you please save your 'comments' for the beano website where perhaps they'll be appreciated.
24/11/05 randybugger@hotmail.cum

Feedback from Mr/Ms Randy Bugger. Dear Mrs Flowers, is there a web site where I could view previous races I am a keen photographer and enjoy looking at good composition, light and construction. God Bless

23/11/05 bill-louise@blueyonder.co.uk

Feedback from Mr/Ms Eadie: What a great bunch of lads, I really enjoyed running with you all in the 10k and it was nice to run off with the best prize!! You all by now know what my heels look like!!! and a special thank you to Lee, George and Peter for your continued encouragement.

23/11/05 sunflower@peacenhappiness.co.uk

Feedback from Mr/Ms Flowers. Love your site and hope to make it to one of your Monday night meetings. If any of you are interested we organise a naked 10k every longest day. As like your race numbers are not transferable and must be worn, sticky tape is used - men's numbers are on their fronts and ladies on their backs. I can be contacted through Lee Barlow.  We soon hope to have our site up and running. Photographs from the race will be on the site and available for purchasing.

21/11/05 randybugger@hotmail.cum

Feedback from Mr/Ms Randy Bugger. Hey Ladies just had a brainwave why don't you's get together and do one of the calendars.
Like the one the Woman's Institute done to raise money? I have a plastic wipe clean disposable camera with 20 pictures waiting to be took. I take sum crakin pics when I can keep me hands steady, go on give it a go.

21/11/05 randybugger@hotmail.cum

Feedback from Mr/Ms Randy Bugger. Just read that article from Peter Cruse on his 10 worst races. For the record if I had run in 10 races they would all be my worst ones. Running is for people with too much time in their hands. No wonder pubs are closing.  I don't mind watching lady runners though especially the ones under 70.

16/11/05 bosswrinkly@weshamroadrunners.com

Feedback from Mr/Ms Wrinkly. I don't care if Brian Wilkinson or A.N.Other was 10000th hit on the Web Site! I was 10080th so there.

15/11/05 sportsinjurymassage@btopenworld.com

Congratulations to BRENDA EARNSHAW on completing her first 10K. Ten thousand hits on our web site since January 2005.

15/11/05 randybugger@hotmail.cum

Feedback from Mr/Ms Randy Bugger. Vote for the blonde she looks better in the Gayzette. Who wants to look at sweaty blokes - vote for the blonde!

15/11/05 ilovewomin@hotmail.com

Feedback from Mr/Ms Bugger. I vote for Shelly simply because she is fit...

15/11/05 outpatients@victoria.co.uk

Feedback from: Mr/Ms I M Injured. For a change I agree with the Scotsman vote for Peter Gleaves he is a star. PS. I am not gay!

14/11/05 outpatients@victoria.co.uk

Feedback from: Mr/Ms I M Injured. I have just looked at the most recent photograph taken at Mansfield. Why is it that Brian Porter is always going down on the photographs. A free drink from Peter Cruse for the wittiest reply that is printable.   I M Injured

13/11/05 www.Kendalac.co.uk

Feedback from: Kendalac Website. Wesham nr Blackpool provide a big part the front end for our races and shhh my favourite running web site

13/11/05 martinbates3@hotmail.com

Feedback from: Mr/Ms Bates. Feel Wesham aren't getting the credit they deserve from the Gazette. In the last 6 weeks, they have only had 2 photos, thus loosing in my opinion chance to attract any unattached runners who may be half interested in joining. Blackpool have had 4 pictures in 1 issue! North Fylde have had pictures in all the 6 weeks.
WRR usually have more runners out than the other 3 local clubs put together, but the worse coverage.
Should we be more pushy? Should we make it a bigger priority than @ present? Am I the only member that feels like this? !!! If so, I'll shut up!!!

12/11/05 martinbates3@hotmail.com

Feedback from: Mr/Ms Bates. Another disappointing Gazette - 4 Blackpool picis,1 NF %26 1 Lytham. What are we doing wrong? (we had runners out at 6 different races!!!)

03/11/05 nick.hume@tiscali.co.uk

Congratulations to Alex Rowe, Gary Pendlebury and Dave Waywell on their selection for the England Veterans Teams from all at North Fylde. We wish them all every success in Dublin.

16/09/05 keith@gresty700.fsnet.co.uk

Brenda  Congratulations on the presentation and content of the newsletter. Couldn't get to read it because Norma for the first time  has taken an interest and read it from cover to cover. I shall be keeping my copy as a momento can't wait for the next issue. Well Done!  Regards   Keith

15/09/05 rt.chapman@btinternet.com

BRENDA - Just  a quick  note to  say  what  a great club magazine you have created. not just good to  look at but  good to  use. Even  paginated  with  contents. Brilliant! REG

13/09/05 Brian Wilkinson

Have now seen and partially read the newsletter and a magnificent newsletter it is. Well done Brenda and Pete and follow that as they say!!  Cheers  Brian.

13/09/05 Steve.Myerscough@OLEAlliance-dg.co.uk

Brenda, I'd just like to echo what everybody else is saying, the newsletter is great! I'm sure it must have taken plenty of time and effort to make it look so good, edit it, bind it, etc. We all appreciate your efforts - keep up the good work. Regards, Steve

09/09/05 seasiders51@hotmail.com

Well done for presenting such a great newsletter which I enjoyed to read. Karl Lee

09/09/05 david.seagrave@endeavour.co.uk

Just to say that I thought that the newsletter was absolutely brilliant, (content and format), – you’ve set yourself a difficult task in matching the high standard down the line but I hope that we all support you with a wealth of articles and comments etc. Regards David Seagrave

08/09/05 george@gfandvf.freeserve.co.uk

06/09/05 richard.storey@uk.ibm.com

Hello Brenda, Just a quick note to say that I think the web site is looking real quality these days with a good selection of information that's kept right up to date. Also I found the first edition of the new newsletter a good read last night. It all must eat up a lot of your time but your effort is certainly appreciated. Thanks, Richard

06/09/05 john.whiteman@tesco.net

Hi! Brenda,
By the way congratulations on your efforts in producing the Newsletter, well done.
Still Boss.

06/09/05 martinbates3@yahoo.co.uk

Newsletter is absolutely superb.

06/09/05 charles.linkison@eds.dwp.gsi.gov.uk

Hiya Brenda,  Martin had very kindly put my newsletter through my letter box this morning at 6:40. I knew the next issue was out this week so I had been looking forward to seeing it. When I thumbed through it I was very impressed. It is the best newsletter of any club I have ever been a member and better than anything that is produced here at work. Certainly more interesting too ! It'll take some reading too, you've struck a good balance on content, pictures and stories, plus the light hearted stuff. I hope and suspect your enthusiasm will be infectious and encourage other members like myself to contribute with stories, anecdotes and pictures. Again, well done to you and Peter and everyone involved in the newsletter and the club. Regards Chaz

What a professional presentation, must have taken ages and a lot of hard work to put together. Bloomin well done...

05/09/05 biggeo@btinternet.com

Hi Bren, Well where do I start, very, very impressed the whole package is excellent very professional. The quality ,content and presentation easily make it the best Newsletter I have ever seen. I have read it twice and think you have it spot on. It will obviously make my job easier a salesman is only as good as his product. The only mistake I noticed was on the photographs of the runners at the Welsh Castles you had Charles Linkison but it was Charlie Pass but that is something I will blame on your assistant. He has made a Charlie out of himself getting them mixed up. I think all the hard work has paid off and I know everyone will be very impressed. Very, very well done! Best Regards, George

08/07/04 Karl Lee The best Website in the Fylde! -

Well done Brenda, doing a very good job. It gets better every time I go on. Typical John Whiteman having to be first in the Guestbook..... I suppose it's the only time he will come first in anything ha ha!

Keep up the good work.

Freckleton Half Marathon - Just to say what a fantastic race this was, all the lads at the club really enjoyed it....Great job Brian....See you at our next Gin Pit 5 in October and we will see you at the Wesham 10K in November.

John Whiteman john.whiteman@tesco.net

Website Update - I have got to be first to use this new facility. Well done Brenda, keep up the superb work on the web site.
20/04/05 boss@wrinkly.wrr

Congratulations Brenda on reaching 2000!!!Didn't think you were as OLD AS PETE

29/12/04 Alex Rowe

Brenda, I have to say congratulations for the Wesham Website, it is truly excellent. I haven’t visited the site much in the past but recently I have consulted it to provide background for my press coverage, and always found what I was looking for straightaway. Having spent more time in the site recently I can only say I truly believe it to be second to none. The presentation is excellent, it is obviously bang up to date and the depth of coverage is spectacular. As an IT developer (with no 'e' or web skills) I can appreciate some of the more technical issues and it has none of the common pitfalls of other sites.

I have been meaning to set up a veterans, (Masters), page for over a year now but I never seem to find the time to put keyboard to screen. However! New Year resolve! I will try again to get something going for 2005. Many thanks, and keep up the good work! Happy New Year to you and Peter.   Alex.
