As the summer months come to an end and mid-week racing is nearing its completion, we can only look back with pride.
We have fought every step of the way to make it a battle with Preston, we go to the final fixture just 1 point behind, and yes, we are the massive underdogs but we can dream, and the spirit we have shown this season is remarkable. It truly has been one of the biggest team efforts our club has produced. We have one more fight to take on – by pulling together one more time, let David take on Goliath! Let’s find that Holy Grail! Spring has finally arrived, and that can only mean one thing, London Marathon! All the hard work through those dark cold winter days paid dividends for so many. Wesham, once again had a fab turnout and a great weekend. I’m so glad that many of our members experienced it for the first time. Julie Rooney had the run of the day, smashing her PB, Stuart Topping was also rewarded with a PB. Elliot made the start line this year and can be proud of his achievements, the club was also represented by Nicola, Gemma, Pete Cruse and myself. The support team for the weekend included Kerry, The Dansons, Ryan, Mick & Carmel, Nicola’s husband Andrew, just to name a few, each and every one of them motivated Team Wesham on the course. They were amazing. The only disappointment was that Sally Deacon, who had tried so hard to be fit, was unable to shake off the injury she has been plagued with for over the last couple of years, and was not able to join us.
