The Wesham team in the latest Pilling 10k on Saturday morning.

Rob Danson won the latest Pilling 10k race on Saturday morning, crossing the line in a swift 31:54, some 1min 53sec clear of second placed Joe Monk of Blackburn. David Taylor was 9th in 37:19.  Alan Hudson was 1st M65 in 44:13 in 33rd place. Tracey Hulme finished 11th woman and 2nd W50 in 46:23, 43rd overall.  Dave Young was 62nd in 51:06, 4th M65, with Robert Wallace 76th in 53:24. There were 114 runners overall.


The Kendal AC 10k race series drew to a close with the 5th race at Staveley, an additional race added last year and possibly the toughest course of the set with steady climbing up to the 5-mile point. David Taylor relished the challenge and finished 9th in 38:22, a tremendous performance. Phil Leaver was 68th and 4th M60 in 51:09, with Jen Salt 9th woman 71st with 51:43. Kath Hoyer finished 10th woman, 3rd W50 and 72nd overall in 51:54 and Alan Taylor was 77th with 53:09. Peter Bartlett finished 87th and 7th M60 in 55:47; Chris Moss 99th with 59:36; Dave Waywell was 1st M70 although beaten by a W70 and was 101st in 60:24; Debbie Myerscough 29th woman, 10th W50 and 105th overall in 63:37.


Simon Eaton completed the Lakeland 50 starting at the north end of Ullswater and finishing in Coniston via Haweswater and Kentmere taking in some of the most challenging terrain in the central Lake District. With 50 miles and some 3100m of climb he finished in a time of 11:32:04 to take an equal 129th place with a tremendous effort.  There were 662 solo competitors in this event.


In the Lytham Hall parkrun on Saturday morning Arran Galvin was the fastest Wesham members clocking 19:38 for the 4-lap 5kms for an M35 age graded performance of 67.57%. John Bertenshaw ran a good 20:38 to register an M60 grade of 78.42%. Jonathan Lawson was timed at 22:14 for M45 65.82%; Peter Rooney 23:51 for M55 66.11%; Michaela Dempsey 23:57 for W50 70.84% and Phil Leaver 24:52 for M60 66.82%. Finlay McCalman ran 26:39 with M50 56.72% and Graham Cunliffe 27:24 for M60 59.06. Stephen Twist clocked 27:29 for M50 53.67% and Julie Rooney 28:35 for W40 54.64%. Debbie Bell ran 29:14 with W40 53.82% and Clive Berry was the tail sweep runner in 42:29. In he Preston parkrun Steve Myerscough recorded 19:22 for an M40 grade of 72.12%; Ben Wrigley 24:48 for M35 53.49% and Robert Brown M60 62.75% with a time of 25:33. In the Carlisle parkrun Steven Gore ran 20:39 for M35 64.25% with Megan Gore 37:51 for JW10 45.09% with Vicky Gore running 37:52 in support. Jason Blagden clocked 20:02 in the Blackpool run in Stanley Park for M45 70.62% with Stuart Topping 20:51 for M56 68.51%. Nicola Unsworth was the fastest woman of the day with 22:22 for W45 72.43%.
