My thanks go to everyone who took part in this Predictor Race.

As you know, the aim of a Predictor Race is not to be the first runner home but to be the runner who achieves a time nearest to their predicted time. The first runner home was Reg Chapman. After reviewing the results and, in consultation with my co-time keeper, Janet, we decided to award four prizes.

Firstly a prize went to the person who least knew how good a runner they were and came in 5 min 47 seconds faster than they anticipated, which was Dorothy.

Secondly a prize, (and for reasons which became obvious), was awarded for the first lady, which of course went to Celia, who came in 38 seconds under her predicted time. This prize was a wooden duck acquired free from the seat of a restaurant as it has been left behind by a previous occupant!!!!

Not wanting to repeat the mistakes of the last holiday predictor, and after checking and double checking, we had joint winners. The first of these winners was Derek who came in minus one second and the other was, wait for it, - John, who also came in minus one second of his predicted time.

All runners, you will see from the table above, did remarkably well and were quite near to their individual predicted times. The results were also, of course, subject to a final scrutiny of Boss Wrinkly.
