badger Set events

Thanks to all who came along, many of whom
have run all the Badger Set events. Congratulations are in order to our
sponsor Debbie Salmon representing NEALES WASTE MANAGEMENT who announced
she is pregnant; we do hope she will make the July event before hanging up her running shoes.
Judging by the positive feedback we seem to
have hit on a winning formula. Despite
the afternoon thunderstorm the skies cleared and it stayed dry for the event,
although rather soggy underfoot.
All age categories were represented with
some very impressive performances from veterans Colin Shuttleworth (V50) in 6th
place, Dave Waywell (V65) in 13th and juniors Matt Proctor 2nd and Heather Parker 26th
overall. Lee Passco of
The three Wildlife Trust stalls all completed their personal challenge. We
didn’t lose anyone, all the cakes were eaten and proceeds topped £500 all in aid of our glorious
wildlife. I hope to see you all again on
Thursday 19th July,
please bring a friend and help me crack my target of 100 runners.
Apologies for any discrepancies with using
5yr age categories; I believe all results are now corrected. Just a quick note of appreciation to Wildlife Trust staff and Rossendale Harriers who helped put on
the event, our sponsor Neales Waste
Management and all the suppliers who donated prizes: Walsh for three pairs of running shoes, Viga, Running Bear, Foot Traffic, Hilly, Up & Running and SIS.
Many thanks –
Clare Kenny.
