The rain relented enough to give a dry
start, although conditions underfoot were still slippery with plenty of muddy
puddles to splash through and the river running high.
Tonight saw a new race winner Charlie Pass in just over 35mins, only
a minute or so slower than the record, (Steve
Littler 34mins). Competition was
strong with Rossendale Harriers,
regular supporters of this series, losing out by one point in the men’s team
event to Clayton le Moors Harriers
and in the women’s team event to Accrington
Road Runners.
Joe Johnston of Rossendale was again the U18
winner with another creditable performance to bring
