Provision of Club Vests
As some of you may know since we lost Ian Cosh as our kit man we had the fortune to get the experts at Sweatshop (Wrea Green) who offered to takeover were Ian had left off. We started by getting a new vest from the Ron Hill team range and these were being sold at the shop which was a new venture for both parties and which initially worked reasonably well. There was however a problem that not everyone could get into the shop as readily as they wanted to and also the re-ordering of kit was difficult due to the involvement with the firms head office. I eventually after talking with Lorraine at some length realised that the system was not working as well as both of us had hoped. So we agreed that we, he club would once again take over the role left vacant by Ian, using contacts provided by Lorraine, who were agreeable to it. I had not expected to finish up with another role to play, but it seemed like common sense to maintain a link at this stage, and by taking the remaining vests down to the club each Monday, business was resumed. That was about 3 months or more ago and my first job was just to order enough vests to get the stocks back to normal. Not being used to the system and definitely not being aware, that order to delivery is a minimum of 6 weeks, running low on stock was inevitable. Now the good news, in the past couple of weeks I have received the first order and things are back to normal, well almost. I now have in stock Ladies club running vests sizes S, M, L and XL. My first mistake was not to order any XS but that will be remedied in due course and I do apologise ladies. In Mens club running vests I have M, L and XL and I am just waiting for someone to ask me for an S or XXL. In the very near future we will be getting some club running shorts bearing the club title on the leg of the shorts and even better news is that a young lady as volunteered to takeover the kit job and that person is none other than Janet Wilkinson our beloved Secretary’s wife to whom I am eternally grateful and, for those of you with good memories, you will no doubt recall that she has done this job before so it is in very good hands. So all that remains for me to say is that the cost will remain at £16 and to purchase contact for the time being is Dave Waywell and as soon as it changes to Janet you will all be informed.
