Travelled down with Mr and Mrs Cruse and Lee Barlow. This was my first Horwich 5 and I wasn’t sure what to
expect. I took my midge spray, but would have possibly been OK without it,
though there were a few about at the start.
Had a slow start, but managed to pick it up
on the second lap when the runners had thinned out a bit. The hills weren’t too
bad, when you’re a seasoned fell runner like meself! They were preceded by
quite a fast downhill. I’d run a Civil
Service 5 miler yesterday in 33:35 and was 39 seconds faster
tonight.
