Scotch Eggs and Al Fresco Lavs

On Sunday the 14th May 2006, team Lady Wesham set out. I use the term ‘lady’ loosely after an incident with two scotch eggs and a long queue for the loo.

Julie, Yvonne and Mandy’s final destination was the Liverpool Women’s 10k at Sefton Park. What a treat! Well organised, relaxed, no spitting or smelly mingers. All the stalls stocked ladies kit and the warm up was a little bit of aerobics.

As usual Yvonne was off and left Julie and me for dust. We stuck together. The course was undulating and bendy. The finish was at the top of a little hill. Julie beat me because she says I am scared of corners and prances round them like a fairy.

It was nice to see Margaret Brown from North Fylde at the finish. We collected our medals, goody bags and t-shirts and ‘yes’, they had lots of small sizes. Then back to the car for a buffet lunch!

We then set off back and decided to call at the services and then realised we all had ‘rigor mortis’ because, in our eagerness to down our lunch, we hadn’t cooled down.

A fun day and I would recommend it to all Wesham Ladies next year.
