WESHAM SUCCESS

On Wednesday the 24th of May 2006 Wesham competed at Stanley Park at a Track and Field competition. The first event was the 800 metres and we did very well in it. Next was the 100 metres and me and my sister, Becky did it. I came 2nd with a time of 15.2 seconds and Becky came 5th. Then came the 400 metres event which my mum and my brother did. My mum came 5th and my brother came 6th. Later was the men’s 200 metres and my dad did this and came first with a time of 26.4 seconds. Later on, my dad, Becky and me did the long jump with Julie Murphy. My dad came 2nd with a distance of 4.60 metres. I jumped 3.45 metres and my sister jumped 2.15m; we all did well.  Sue gave Wesham a great start in the 4 x 400m relay. In the end Wesham men and ladies came first and got a huge trophy - one for the men and one for the ladies. A big “thank you” to Wesham for letting the Ingham children run and do the long jump. I would love to do it again and I meet lots of nice friends.

At the Three Clubs Track and Field I did 100m and long jump. I came 6th in 100m and in the long jump did 2.15m. I did very well in everything. I would love to do it again. My points helped the Wesham ladies win. I met a new friend called Yvonne. My sister did the 100m and long jump. In the long jump her best jump was 3.45m and in the 100m she came second. My brother, Jack, did the 400m and he did very well. My mum did 400m and 400m relay. My dad did the 200m and he won. So I think you should do it next year because it was really fun.
