Fell
Championship 2009
I know this is
late, but it is hot off the press (honest!)
The reason for the delay is that, this year
will see a new interclub, a three race fell championship challenge and all the clubs
involved in the road interclub chose three fell races to make up the Interclub Fell Challenge (ICFC). These races have only recently
been selected, and I thought it would be a good idea to incorporate them into
our own fell championship. I know, excuses,
excuses!!
Due to the tie following last year’s
exciting championship climax I have introduced some changes to help us decide
the overall winner.
Should there be a tie on points, (based on
the best four races), then the actual winner will be
decided on the next best score, i.e. their 5th
best score, or even the 6th
if it has not already been decided by then.
Once again, 2009 will be a fresh challenge! We will all experience new routes and none of the races I have chosen have
been conquered as a championship battle race at Wesham. With this in mind I
have assessed the races to appeal to all abilities in terms of height, distance
and location.
And so without further a do, I have listed
the remaining seven races, remember our championship started way back in December at Bolton by Bowland.
