I have had through the entry forms for the Northern Cross Country Championships, St Helens, 24th January 2009. Entry fee is £4 per head which the Club will cover. However, I do not intend to forward blanket coverage of names as I did for the Mid Lanc's league and the Mansfield relays, (40+ names).

 Instead I intend to reference the 07/08 season and 08 Season XC participation list and base my senior men's entrees on this information which, I feel, reflects not just ability but loyalty to the cause. Names so far as follows :- C Pass, A Rowe, J Collier, G Pendlebury, D Buckley, L Cornwall, J Bertenshaw, D Young, P Cooke, A Glasgow, M Midgeley, B Porter, M Edge, D Waywell, G Vickers, G Cunliffe, J Sharples, R Mabbutt, L Barlow, N Shepherd, M Walsh, J Lawson, B Norman, P Leaver.

If anybody wishes to "add" or "subtract" their names from the list, no problem, but would you please contact me a.s.a.p. It is neither the intention of myself or the Club to restrict numbers, but we have to be realistic.

It was suggested that runners could run under assumed names but I would like to avoid this scenario if possible. It has been known that opposing captains have spilt the beans in the past; of course, any future infractions of this nature will be dealt with severely, think East European gentlemen armed with umbrellas.

You may already be aware now; ladies are going to Liverpool. I was chatting to (…name escapes me at the moment…) on Monday and she was planning to leave at 12:00 to arrive 13:00-ish. This does leave time to dash to the Mid-Lancs tent, register names and collect numbers and make the start line for 13:20. I am going to provide a Postcode for her sat-nav and a print of the A to Z. They should be able to dump a car adjacent to the start area for a mad dash across the road. Not ideal but if they do want to complete the double, then needs must.
