The meeting commenced with a show of gratitude to

Peter Mulleady re-iterated his wish to stand down
from the role as Chairman of the CLGP.
Mark

proposed, seconded and was duly elected as Chairman
with immediate effect.
4. Title

The Competition
will be known as the
The competition should be referred to in this way
in all forms of external media.
5. Lostock
6
The Lostock
6 will take place on 28th
February under the joint stewardship of Lostock AC and Burnden Road Runners. A request to the CLGP for a further 10 volunteers for
marshalling, time-keeping duties etc. has been made and in return Lostock are
prepared to donate 25% of the profits from the race to the CLGP.
The member clubs agreed to supply these
volunteers.
Details of meeting points, duties etc. will be
forwarded nearer to the race date.
A registration venue for the race is yet to be
finalised although a decision is expected within the next few weeks.
The race will form part of the CLGP race calendar in 2010 (see below).
6. Grand
Prix Race Dates 2010
The following dates were confirmed for the 2010
season:-
28th
February: Lostock 6

March: St.Annes 10
18th
April: Radcliffe 10km
12th

August:

Notes:
a). The St.Annes 10 has a limit of 400 runners.
The race organiser will inform all clubs when 300 entries have been received.
The CLGP Secretary will remind all
clubs of the need to register early 6 weeks prior to the Race.
b). The Radcliffe 10km will follow a different
course from previous years and have a different registration venue this year
(probably at Radcliffe C.C.)
c). It is
extremely unlikely that the Swinton ½
Marathon will take place this year. In its place Swinton intend to run a 10 or 10.5 mile race on the same date.
7. Presentation
of trophies for the 2009 season
It was agreed that £400 would be spent on team
and individual trophies and a further £300 to £350 on a momento for those
runners who completed 6 out of the 9 races during the 2009 season. This was agreed at the previous AGM as recognition of the 20th anniversary of the
competition.
Pete
Bland will organise the
individual trophies and the inscriptions on the team trophies. Pete McDade will make the necessary
transfer of money to him to cover the costs.
Andrew
Coates will organise the
additional momentos. Costs covered as below.
Ideally the trophies and momentos should be
presented after the Lostock 6 race.
This is dependent on the availability of a suitable registration venue, which
will be confirmed shortly. Alternatively the trophies would have to be
presented either after the St.Annes 10
or the Radcliffe 10km.
8. Transfer
of residual funds
All levies due in 2009 have been paid by member clubs and the competition has around
£950 in the bank. This will be reduced by £400 after the purchase of the 2009 trophies.
The residual funds of around £550 will initially
be transferred to Swinton Running Club and retained in their
account until a new account for the CLGP can be established. £300-£350 of this
transfer will be used to cover the 20th anniversary momentos.
A new bank account will be established and the
Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer will be named as authorised signatories. Any
withdrawals will require signatures from any 2 of those named.
9. Handover
of responsibility for result compilation.
The rules of the competition were confirmed as
follows:-
(i) 10 runners to
count in ‘A’ team
(ii) 8
runners to count in ‘B’ team
(iii) 6
runners to count in Vets team
(iv) 4
runners to count in Ladies team
(v) Races to be held –9
(vi) Best
6 out of 9 races to count for
(vii) Team

(viii) Vet categories to
start at V40 for Men and L35 for Ladies. Each category to cover a 5 year
period.
(ix) Entry on the day – no extra charge to CLGP runners. Race organisers should
inform other CLGP members clubs if
the race is getting close to being fully subscribed.
It is
the responsibility of the individual runners to inform the race organiser of
their CLGP status.
(x) Runners cannot compete for more than one
club in the Grand Prix in the same
season. Results will only count for the first claimed club.
(xi) Runners will retain the Age Category in which they complete
their own first race in the
competition throughout its duration.
(xii) Clubs must stipulate that all competing
athletes wear club colours, save for exceptional circumstances.
Host
clubs are required to e-mail the results of their races to Vince Ashton as soon
as possible after the race.
Results will be circulated and published on the CLGP web-site as soon as possible after
the race.
10. Sponsorship
It was agreed by all members that sponsorship of
the CLGP would be desirable and
beneficial to its marketability.
Andrew
Coates will pursue the matter
and make enquiries with possible interested parties.
11. Web-Site
up-date
A BlogSpot
linked to the A&T web-site has
been established and can be accessed via the following address:-
http://centrallancsgrandprix,blogspot.com
It was felt at this stage that this was
sufficient for the needs of the competition but that a domain name
e.g.www.centrallancsgp.co.uk should be purchased. Entry of this address will
automatically transfer to the existing BlogSpot.
Vince Ashton agreed to undertake this task.
12. Date
of the next meeting
Tuesday
8th June 2010 at Gin Pit commencing 7.30p.m.
13. Any
other Business
a). It was confirmed that a levy of £0.50 per CLGP runner will be charged in the 2010
season. Vince Ashton or host clubs
will inform the Treasurer of the
participating numbers after each race and an invoice will be e-mailed to the
club concerned. Of course, this will not apply to the Lostock 6 as Lostock are
no longer part of the competition but the CLGP
will be compensated by receiving 25% of the race profits.
b). It was felt by member clubs for a formal Constitution was not necessary. If it
is the requirement of the bank in order to open a bank account, then the rules
of the competition will be adopted as the Constitution.
Meeting
