All new patients are assessed to the
highest clinical standard by a Health
Professions Council Registered Podiatrist (formerly CPSM State Registered). Professional reports can be provided to GPs
upon request.
Specialised Podiatry
Nail Surgery: partial and total nail avulsions with phenol cauterization of
the nail matrix to prevent recurrence.
Biomechanics: paediatric gait assessment for developmental and postural
anomalies. Assessment of the adult foot and lower limb including sports
injuries.
Functional Orthoses Provision: orthoses (or orthotics) are special
inserts designed to go into your shoes. These can either help to redistribute
and cushion pressure or control / improve the way your foot and leg functions.
Diabetic Foot Assessments: (in accordance with NICE guidelines). Neuropathic
and vascular assessments carried out. Podiatry evaluation given. Up- to- date
and effective health education provided.
The mainstay of all treatment should be an evidenced
based approach to the assessment and management of the complaint. In many
cases, the underlying causes and treatment option are varied and need to be
tailored to the individual depending on their requirements.
Where appropriate, patients are referred for
investigations and to other disciplines to ensure that the optimum treatment is
provided allowing a speedy return to normal activity.
