The
recently published Wesham 10k
Ranking List for
2004 reflects the
ever growing strength
of Wesham Road Runners,
with an amazing
96 members
completing a 10k race
during the year,
compared to 82
last year.
Heading
the rankings once
again was Steve Littler
with his superb
31:52 effort
at Salford second with
his 32:48.
Performance
at Ulverston was Alex Rowe
and third was
newcomer Charlie Pass who
ran 33:15 at Wesham.
The
45 minute barrier
was beaten by 52
athletes in 2004 compared
to 44 last year,
further evidence of
the growing strength
in depth. Another
good sign for
the future of
the club is
that only two of
the top seven are
veterans.
In
the Ladies section 21
members completed a 10k
race during the
course of the
year, up from 18 the
previous year.
Leading
lady was Joanna Goorney
who ran 40:44 at Garstang, second
was Michaela Dempsey with 40:55
at Bashall Eaves and
third was Kath Hoyer
with her 43:07 effort
at Wesham.
